What you need to know
A photo auction is a timed lot. It runs on bids from your Joodha wallet and needs no broadcast. The pilot offers timed lots only, accepts manual bidding only, and funds from the Joodha wallet. Pay on Win is not available for photo auctions in the pilot.
Choosing a photo lot or a live broadcast
A photo auction is a fixed lot: photos of the item and a description of it, with a stated start and end time. There is no broadcast, no audio and no in-person element. Live video stays for lots that depend on live bidding.
When a photo auction fits
Clear photos of the item from several angles, an accurate description of its condition, and a start time that suits buyers. A lot does not begin from a single photo.
What a photo auction does not offer
No in-lot video broadcast, no automatic maximum proxy bidding, and no hybrid mode. These options are not available for photo auctions in the current pilot.
Photos, description and condition
The photos are what a buyer sees before deciding. We ask for one clear main photo plus extra photos that show any flaw or sign of use. Describe in the text what the photos cannot show: measurements, scratches, whether parts are original or replaced, and any known fault.
What makes a description sufficient
The condition, the size, any modification, and any visible or suspected defect. An honest description reduces later disputes.
What we do not accept
Photos of a different item, broadcast frames carrying another party watermark, or photos that hide a known defect. A restored item is described as restored, whether it is the whole piece or part of it.
Timed auctions: starting, extending and ending
The lot starts at the time you chose. If a bid arrives in the last five seconds before closing, closing is extended by ten seconds so everyone can take part. That extension can happen at most twelve times, so a lot can close up to two minutes after its published end time. Buyers can see that closing moved and by how much.
Extension
Closing extends only when a bid lands in the five seconds before the end. Each extension adds ten seconds, and there are at most twelve of them. Treat the published end time as the earliest closing, not the final one: a lot may close up to two minutes later than the time shown.
When the lot ends
When the time runs out, bidding closes and the outcome is determined. If no bid was placed, the lot ends unsold.
Target auctions
In the current pilot
A target lot ends early once the public target price is reached. That option is not available for photo auctions in the current pilot: the lot stays timed and ends at its published end time.
Not a hidden reserve
The target price is shown to buyers when bidding opens. It is not a secret reserve set by the seller, and this page never describes it as one.
If the target is not reached
A lot that reaches the end of its scheduled life without reaching the public target ends with no sale. The item is not sold below the target, and nothing is held back for anyone.
Payment terms in the current pilot
In the current pilot
In the photo-auction pilot, payment is funded from the Joodha wallet only, inside a timed lot with manual bidding. Funding by card hold is not available for photo auctions, because the wallet is the only payment source the pilot supports.
What bidding means before closing
In the pilot, funds are held from your Joodha wallet when you place a bid. That sets how much you can bid: every bid reduces your available balance, whether or not you win.
What is not offered in the pilot
Pay on Win is not available for photo auctions, hybrid mode is not available, and automatic maximum proxy bidding is not available. These belong to live-video lots or to other formats.
Winning and paying within 24 hours
If your bid is highest when the lot closes, you have 24 hours to complete payment. The deadline is fixed and does not vary by item or amount. Your funds stay held from your wallet during that window.
Payment status
You may see that payment is pending, or that the outcome is not yet settled. That is a normal state meaning the outcome has not settled yet. It does not mean you lost.
If you still owe money on another lot
While you have a won lot that is still awaiting payment, you cannot bid on any auction at all, photo auctions included, on any payment method, until that payment is made.
What not paying means
If the deadline passes without payment, the lot closes, the missed payment is recorded, and the bidding block above ends. It is not a lasting penalty and it does not freeze your account. What happens to the item is then the seller’s choice: they can offer it to the next bidder in the ranking for 24 hours to accept it, or put it back into a new auction.
Shipping and delivery
In the current pilot each item ships separately. We do not combine several items into one shipment and we do not merge shipping. Shipping arrangements for a photo order are confirmed with you by support, so ask support for the cost before you pay for an item you have not received.
No combined shipping
Combining items into one shipment is deferred and we do not offer it. This page does not promise a dispatch deadline for combined orders or a reduced fee for them, because we do not support it yet.
Delivery
Ask support for the dispatch and delivery arrangements before you send or receive an item, and keep any reference they give you. If something is late or damaged, contact us with that reference and photos of the packaging.
Managing your lot: cancelling, withdrawing and relisting
Nothing is restarted on its own: an item is not re-auctioned automatically, and the terms of a live lot are never silently replaced. Cancelling, withdrawing and relisting are separate actions, and each has its own effect. The one time an item goes into a new auction after a lot ends is when the seller chooses to relist it after a buyer does not pay.
Cancelling the lot
A clear cancellation before closing. The item returns to your inventory, and the lot is not reopened automatically.
Withdrawing the item
Taking the item out of its listing without cancelling it. It stops being visible to buyers until you publish it again yourself.
Running a new auction
To run a new auction for an item you withdrew, create a new listing rather than relying on an old lot. A finished lot is never restarted automatically.
Questions, contact and reporting
If the seller is offline or you cannot reach them, contact support and do not move money to an account outside the platform. We record that as an incident, and we do not cancel a sale automatically because of it.
If the seller is not responding
If the seller has not replied within a reasonable time, tell support. We record it as an incident and take no automatic sale action. Contact support and nobody else.
Reporting content
If you meet prohibited content, harassment, or an attempt to move the deal outside the platform, contact support directly and attach screenshots. A photo lot has no in-app chat, so support is the reporting channel that actually reaches us.
Transaction evidence
We keep the order record, the bid history and the payment record as the reference for any dispute. Those records help us, and we do not ask you for data we do not need.
